Methods of Payment

-Direct Deposit: the client authorizes the academy to debit their bank account (by providing the academy a void cheque) on the 1st day of every month – from the time student registers until June 29, 2024. Monthly payments will stop on June 29, 2024.

Lesson fees will be based on equal payments and the amount of payment depends on the duration of lessons, and the teacher that the student takes lessons from.

For other types of activities such as rehearsals, extra lessons, purchasing books, etc., the Direct Deposit method will be used only with the client’s written permission. Other types of payments such as cash, e-transfer, or cheques are also accepted for non-regular lessons or book purchases.

Lessons happening on Mondays:

All students should receive 40 lessons from September 1st, 2023 until June 29th, 2024. All Mondays including Thanksgiving day are considered as regular lessons days, however, if the teacher or the student is not able to attend the lessons, the lessons shall be rescheduled to another day agreed by both teacher and the student.

Students who register after September 1st:

We count the number of lessons from the day student starts until June 28, 2023 and divide the number of lessons by the number of remaining months in order to arrange equal payments.

Missing / cancelling lessons policy

Class Termination:

One missed lesson per semester (Fall semester: September 1st, 2023 – January 30th, 2024 and Spring semester: February 1st, 2024 – June 29, 2024) is eligible for a makeup only if there is at least a 24-hour notice. No show ups and less than 24 hour cancellation notices are not eligible for makeup and the fee of that lesson is not refundable.

During the academic year, if a student or teacher must miss lessons due to travel, a minimum of two make-up sessions must be scheduled to account for the missed classes, with the goal of covering all missed lessons if possible. Any lessons (outside of the 2 lessons) that cannot be made up will be refunded. This ensures that students do not fall behind in their coursework and that teachers maintain a more consistent income.

Lesson cancelled by teacher

Teachers are responsible to reschedule the lessons they cancel whether they are cancelled on a short notice or a long notice.

If the student wishes to terminate their classes, they are required to give at least 30 day notice. For instance, if the notice is given March 15th, the payments will stop on April 30th. The notice should be given on March 1st or before in order for the payment to stop on March 30th. This amount of time will allow the academy to find a new student and fill that spot.

Piano Accompaniment:

The academy takes the responsibility to provide students with an accompanist for recitals, RCM exams and other events. Accompanist fees are paid separately from regular lesson fees.
